Glenwood Springs – Breckenridge – Arvada, Colorado
After a good rest and recovery, remote learning break in Glenwood Springs, the duo was back on their trail to Denver. They grabbed breakfast to go from the Glenwood Springs Inn where they rested the last two days after soaking in the infamous springs. First attention was gas as they drove off towards Frisco and Breckenridge in search of a public WiFi location so King Cian could do his e-school zoom class. Afterwards they planned on exploring the Breckenridge Troll and Fairy Forest – high up on their bucket lists.
They were able to make Frisco for Cian’s 2nd grade remote class, stopping at a Starbucks with Chai n’ WiFi. After class, the duo headed into Breckenridge to seek out the Troll. They found him, hiked up and took photos with the magnificent art. They then proceeded to find the Fairy forest – which turned out to be a life-bucket list item they lost out on experiencing … something they learned hard and fast during this pandemic. Don’t miss out on exploring something as soon as you can, because it may not be there tomorrow. The city apparently did not like the tourist attention the Fairy forest was getting, so they closed it down – cited for revegetation, and such art is just trashing the natural woods. The fae are not happy with this discrimination. As Will Smith said in “Bright” – “Fairy lives Matter”.
They could see smoke from the Walden? or Bear creek? wildfires along the interstate. The duo explored downtown Main street, perusing the history before and after Cian’s e-learning RLC class, and PE class. Dad treated Cian to a Caramel apple treat after school. They grabbed KFC for dinner on the way out of town. Exploring history then passing through fires again along I-70 on the way to their Colorado home in Arvada to meet up with the roomies, plan out dealing with storage to move to Washington state. It will be a busy few several days Oisin concluded.
