Arvada – Westminster, Colorado
Oisin was up and out of the house by 8:30 am. Most of the snow had already melted away, but not surprisingly weather modeling for the state of Colorado. As the therapists were working with the kids, he headed out to Starbucks for a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino and breakfast croissant. Then he dove into web development and client work. He met up with a new online friend from the Bellingham Living Facebook group, that was a friend of three mutual friends in Denver. She is planning on moving to Bellingham. They shared tales, networks, and circles. Hanging out at the outdoor dining tables at a Starbucks. Good conversations were had.
After the hangout, Oisin headed to US Bank to make his rent deposit, then to Hooters to meet his client who bought him wings and cider while discussing the website. After the meeting, Oisin and Allison met up at Tuk Tuk Thai for a pre-dinner out on the patio, then went to watch “Nobody” at the Westminister AMC. They were impressed with the pandemic precautions the theater had implemented. They felt safe. It was a good movie Oisin thought. Afterward, Oisin realized his Aloe vera plant he brought on the journey was dying – potentially from the freezing temperatures and being kept in the car. The flower was drooping.
After the movie, they headed home and hung out with Brandon having a fire in the new fireplace in the backyard. Cian and Ash did a Skype chat about Cian’s experiences eating scorpion pops – wanting Ash to try them when they get together during the summer.
Another late night watching “A Discovery of Witches” series with Allison, then late-night web development, vlogging, and client work.
In the News according to NPR and the New York Times, infection cases are rising again throughout the United States seemingly unaffected by increase vaccinations. (though hospitalizations and deaths have declined) Pfizer and Moderna’s first doses have been found to be 80% effective in real-life studies. The United States is averaging over 65,000 new cases a day. There is a new more contagious variant called B.1.1.7 from the UK that is spreading into the United States and around the world. While some States have lifted mask mandates, others have reinstated them. Spring Break however is contributing to the numbers as crowding, ignorance of social distancing, and masking becomes a real problem. More cases are developing amongst younger and healthier populations because of this. The British are researching pairing doses from different Covid vaccines as a new strategy for their lack of immunizations. Nonetheless, the U.S. government is optimistic about the summer, meeting Biden’s goals, and vaccinating the population. With warm weather on the horizon, more and more people will be leaving the infection hotspots of indoor activity for outdoor activities and gatherings.
In other news, two capitol police officers are suing Donald Trump as the responsible party for their physical and emotional injuries from the January 6th riot. The Artist Lil Nas X with his devil Nike shoes caused chaos amongst corporations and right-wing media personalities for his demonic ads and Satan Shoes. Everyone is wondering if he signed away his soul to the Devil in the crossroads.
