Young Thomas was just freshly born, not yet a year old. It was in the old victorian mansion on Wykaggyl Terrace. It was his mom and dad’s first night out alone after having him. At this time, they had a live-in spiritualist nannie from Jamaica named Willie. She was good with the kids. She bid the parents off to have a good time away letting them know everything would be ok. But shortly after they left for dinner, it wasn’t. She had just locked the doors to the house, moved young Thomas into the kitchen to watch him while she was doing dishes. Just then, the back door swung open. “Strange” she thought, as she remembered locking that door. Nonetheless, she locked it again and made sure it was firmly closed and went back to doing dishes. Moments later, she heard it unclick and watched it swing open on its own. The hairs on her neck were standing straight up. She closed it again. It did it again. This time she propped a chair against it. Then the kitchen cabinets started opening and closing on their own, and things around the house started moving on their own. She heard footsteps running up and down the stairs to the basement. She frantically called the parents to return home. They returned home to find Willie terrified, her hair teased up, her fake teeth taken out, sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, grasping onto Young Thomas for dear life, and holding a large steak fork in defensive position. Shocked and scared, young Thomas’ parents asked her what happened. After a bit of silence, she told them. She said she was leaving. She could not live in this house. Luckily she came back stronger later that week with talismans and charms to ward off spirits.
