The Vic-20 and the 80’s

At this time young Thomas, now in his teens and now embarking upon his regent as “Sir Thomas” was now propelled further into the future of innovation. For his birthday he received the Commodore Vic 20 computer. Not only was he having the blessing of arcades at home, where he could play pac-man, dig-dug, asteroids, and tempest but he was now able to write digitally, learning coding, programming, and design his own games. He quickly started making solitary Tunnels and Trolls game apps, even though Flying Buffalo was already ahead of the game with their own (that he ordered later that year) as well as being sucked into the play by mail strategy they had. He was still playing Dungeons and Dragons with his neighborhood friends, though the Valleys of the Kings and Queens were being lost in the dust as his attention turned to Girls. It was the 7th grade he had his first kiss and his first girlfriend. He got into rock and roll, heavy metal, and hard rock. He became obsessed with black lights and lava lamps. He played clarinet in high school band. Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, AC DC, Led Zeppelin, Styx, Journey, and the Scorpions were amongst his favorites. He loved movies. Horror movies merging into comedies and into they silly slapstick horror-comedies. He was learning English style horseback riding lessons. Golf lessons. Tennis lessons. Ski lessons. His parents enrolled him into just about everything to keep him busy (and presumably away from girls). He was strongly into jewelry making – having his own rock saw, tumbler, grinder, and polisher and got attention from the news as being one of the youngest Rockhounds for the local club he belonged to. He continued with his stage magic and illusions as side jobs for birthday parties.
