Young Thomas’ mother was haunted by something in the mansion on Wykaggyl Terrace. Strange noises, cabinets opening and closing, something running up and down the stairs, doors swinging on their own. She had the ghostly apparition appear to her once when she was in the bathroom and another time at the foot of her bed. Her husband thought she was nuts. He didn’t believe her. She’d hear the noises, he wouldn’t. Their Jamaican babysitter Willie heard and saw things too. So his mother knew she wasn’t mad. They would converse together often on what to do. She had studied Edgar Cayce and had quite a history with premonitions, hearing doorbells and phone ring before they rang, and was a sensitive. She knew things others didn’t. She could see things other couldn’t. So could Willie. They could lean on one another with all this strangeness. She was also a practicing tarot reader, palmist, and handwriting analyst.
