For his birthday, young Thomas got a Dungeons and Dragons game set to play with. Much of his thirst for wizardry and fantasy was quenched. He could now escape into imaginary realms, battling dragons and demons, and using magical powers. His skills as a stage magician was just forming, as the magic tricks his brother passed on to him were well on their way absorbing into his persona as a young magician. He started doing magic shows for birthday parties. But something was addictive and compelling about this game system “Dungeons and Dragons”. It was all too familiar. He was all too addicted. In addition, he was able to learn about the old Gods and Goddesses with it, and about those mythical fantastical creatures called monsters and faeries. This propelled a fascination for all things ancient, and pushed him further away from studying geology and going into Archaeology. As an altar boy for the Catholic Church, he was also considering Priesthood. He was a good Catholic boy with a thirst for knowledge of the unknown.
