01.05.21: E-school and the Grind

Tuesday, January 5, 2020:
Sumas, Washington

Early to rising, Oisin jumped on Pandemic unemployment to catch up with filings. He made too much to get any benefits for the last month and a half, but in order to apply for recent changes – he had to catch up. He got Cian ready for e-school / zoom school 2nd grade at Benson Hills, signing him on for his 9:00-11:15 am class. Yogurt and chocolate milk for breakfast. He awaited a client call and continued catching up with errands and unpacking. Oisin continued with accounting and finished off the submission application to the Grubhub Grant using his Holy Wells and sacred springs endeavor. Cian was excited about e-school, then during break played lego zombies with dad. They then built some magnet structures. After school, Dad and Cian headed into Bellingham for their 4 – 7:30 pm Grubhub shift – getting gas along the way at the Lynden Safeway – the cheapest place in the area. It was pouring down rain with high winds – definitely not a preferable delivery environment, but tips were good, averaging $25/hour before subtracting gas, mileage, and wear/tear on the vehicle. After returning back to the headquarters, Dad made vegetable lasagna for dinner with fruit for dessert. King Cian was not impressed. They played Minecraft Dungeons then passed out to some Netflix.

Up in the news “The Stakes could not be higher” says the New York Times with its headline today. Will the U.S. spend billions in the next few years to slow climate change? One could only hope it will be taken as a priority. Then the questioning is will congress reduce medical costs and raise taxes on the rich? So much to ponder. As President-elect Joe Biden attempts today to start to elect the federal judges of his watch. Will he be able to implement the coronavirus policies he seeks? Much is needed to make some changes in how things are being done, that’s for sure, Oisin pondered. Today is the day that the ballot in Georgia begins with its elections – choosing its senators since none got 50% of the vote in November. The Republicans need to have only one of the two races to keep control of the Senate while the Democrats need both to take back control – that is why the New York Times echoed Barack Obama’s statement “The stakes could not be higher”.

Trump keeps rambling about conspiracy theories and personal attacks on him as the countdown nears for his replacement. Corrupt election results, fake news, and falsehoods are what he keeps talking about. He still believes he won this election. England began another national lockdown until mid-February to help slow down the new variant’s spread. Virus deaths are on a rise. There was an arrest of a Wisconsin pharmacist who sabotaged over 500 vaccine doses as he admitted being a conspiracy theorist thinking the vaccine would hurt people. FDA began criticizing the methodology starting to be used around the world for mix-matching vaccines or using half-doses of Moderna.
