10.01.20: Uhaul Hitch, New Mutants, Zoom school

Arvada, Colorado

Oisin and Cian were up at the crack of dawn, ready to do their chores and get the hitch installed on the Mazda 5. The smoke was heavy in the air from the wildfires in the mountains drifting down into the valley. At 6:50 am, the duo drove to U-haul to see if they could fit them in early for the installation of the hitch. Unfortunately, even though they paid and booked for 8 am, the clerk said the installer wouldn’t be in until noon. So they wandered over to Mcdonald’s to grab a pancake platter to go, hit the ENT credit Union to withdraw their rent money, then US Bank to deposit rent checks for the landlord. They grabbed an oil change and in the process discovered a nail in their tire. So they got it fixed, and headed back to U-haul, hoping to use their WiFi for Cian’s remote learning. They were lucky, not only did they have WiFi for the classes, but the installer came in early and was able to start on the hitch. They completed the 2nd grade 10-1230 class and the hitch was done in time. They made it to Starbucks just in time for Cian’s RLC and Chorus classes. After their school and chores, they hit the AMC which was miraculously open, to see an afternoon showing of “the New Mutants“. Unfortunately, AMC’s computer screwed things up but the theater worked it out. They had free drinks and popcorn built up in their AMC A-List membership so enjoyed it cost-free. However, refills were no longer permitted. Recliners didn’t work either or shut down due to the pandemic.

After the movies, they returned to their Colorado home, caught up with the roommates, and called it a day. Unfortunately, the kids were unable to play together. They called it a day, ate dinner, and went off to sleep.
