Tuesday, January 19, 2021:
Sumas – Lummi Nation – Bellingham, Washington
Early to rising, with a little bit of a sleep-in, Oisin and Cian got up to start their day. Cian had to get ready for his 2nd grade E-school while dad had to work on client sites as well as create a How-to-use Skype tutorial for a client. Dad made French toast and bacon for breakfast, served with orange juice. Dad was super exhausted already for the week. Cian began his 9 am to 11:15 am 2nd-grade class followed by 11:15 to 11:30 am Speech class. Dad made client calls.
Cian’s mom got him a used X-box from a friend, so they set it up over lunch – Cian playing Halo during a school lunch break and dad grilling up steak and shrimp over rice. Cian had his 115-220 pm RLC class while dad did some vlogging, and web development, and prepared for a look. Cian had his final course for the day from 3-330 pm library class, then the duo immediately headed out for gig work. They had a Look that was over an hour drive into Lummi Nation, nearly running out of gas on the way, hitting two curbs, driving into a ditch with the underside getting messed up dragging something. Turned out the look got canceled as the woman had her car in Seattle, not Lummi Nation, so he only got a cancellation fee from WGL. They had to hunt down a gas station in a village in Lummi Nation making them late for their Grubhub shift. Mishap after mishap it seemed, Oisin thought.
Grubhub went ok, Oisin felt. However, more bad timing – One of his headlights went out so they had to hit O’Reilly auto parts during a break and there was ia lot of long distance spaced deliveries. Additionally, the bathroom crisis from the pandemic is still in high effect. They couldn’t find anywhere but Starbucks. While at Starbucks, they indulged in an energy boost of an Mocha Cookie Crumble Frapucino and a chocolate croissant for Cian.
After their shift they came across a really bad drunk driver on the road and Dad had to explain to Cian what was going on. As is their usual car-game ritual while driving home to burn time, played Cian’s “ding-dong doorbell” role playing game he adores. Once home leftover steak, shrimp, and rice for dinner. Cian played more Halo on the X-box. Dad passed out from exhaustion during “Equinox” on Netflix. Client work, bill paying, routine grind. Mango berry smoothie for dessert.

Over 70 have been arrested and charged with participation in the riot. Within the global Pandemic – Brazil began its vaccination campaign having a death toll second to the United States. Close to 400,000 have died from Covid in the U.S. at this point, President-elect Biden honored these victims at a Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool memorial ceremony tonight.
