Denver, Colorado – Toronto, Ontario – London, England – Dusseldorf, Germany
Sir Leaf was up to the wee hours of the morning trying to figure out last minute travel arrangements – trains, planes, and automobiles … literally. He was having a hair-pulling time with Holland and Amsterdam, but the car rental backup seemed assuring. He was ready for his expedition to Germany and England.
He was about to embark upon a red-eye flight from Denver International Airport to Toronto, then on to London. It’s his new annual plan to head off to Europe every March or April since ticket prices range between $300-500 for a round trip. Hopefully, this will be his future he thought. He was still in a daze of confusion after his last-minute travel arranging debacle since the vision about the magic ring. He had to undergo numerous financial sacrifices, holding back on luxuries, clubbing, and movies. He had to work through a very limited budget to make this trip happen. He also just recovered from a head cold that thanks to Echinacea Angustifolia, he survived. Through the night alert for alarm wakeup for 5 am, he slept restlessly over-anxious about his trip.

He drove to Denver, arrived at the airport, stashed his auto in long term parking, and proceeded to his gate. Red-eye: that early morning experience of an empty airport with passengers sleeping in the uncomfortable waiting chairs or floors. From Denver to Toronto, Leaf had a surplus of Canadian funds to use as discretionary capital on his layover in the fine Canadian city. Then onwards he went switching planes and heading off for London. Another layover, flight delays, but overall he got to Dusseldorf with only an hour and a half delay. His friend Vanessa, the Lady of the Rhine, greeting his jetlagged being at the airport and brought him home to recover from the long flight and time differences. He was awoken with a plethora of fresh baked goodies and tea that she ran down to the bakery for. An amenity Leaf doesn’t see in the States … the reliance of fresh-baked bread and goods daily, as well as the multiple drinking sessions of tea throughout the day. He was home – at least a home he wished for someday … to live in Europe, for as they say “the grass is always greener on the other side”.
