Oisin and Cian were up early, making buttered toast (dad with avocado, Cian with jelly), Fruity Pebbles cereal, and Orange Juice for breakfast. They got ready for Cian’s online school, 2nd-grade class …. and it was a short day. While Cian was in class, dad reviewed his logged travels on Google Maps, reflecting on the pandemic travels. After school, the duo hit the road for some gig work – getting a Mocha Cookie Crumble frappucino and a Little Caesar’s pepperoni pizza for a late lunch and snacks for the road. Lots of thai food was delivered. They did alright, averaging 25/hour. After the delivery shift, the duo headed to Target where Cian used his allowance and delivery tip earnings to buy the newest Treasure X set – Ninja Gold. Upon returning home they proceeded to excavate the kit. Cian had a tough time with the packaging, trying the plastic sword they expect the customers to open things with, then resorting to a “fork” as Cian said it was his trick tool for opening things. Once the sand pits were opened, Cian’s fingers were deep into the kinetic sand hunting for buried treasure. They had a “good” guy and a “bad” guy, so the duo selected their soldiers.

Did they find the random surprise real gold? While Cian played with the set, he caught up on phone calls, made Beef Stew and leftover Orange chicken and rice for dinner. After dinner, they played Minecraft Dungeons but had a hard time as it was glitching and having technical issues. They watched “Gremlins” together and off to bed Cian went. Afterward Dad fell asleep watching the Summer of 03 on Netflix.

In the News: Lots going on in the world, as the U.S. is dealing with crises around the presidential election and inauguration. On this date, the length of time between a presidential election and inauguration found itself 6 weeks shorter than usual and compared to 1933 when the world was in turmoil. Today, the worst pandemic to hit in a century is seeing more severity and variants, thousands dying daily. The vaccination schedule is behind, 10 million Americans are lacking jobs, the current president is trying to overturn the election, a riot invaded the Capitol (which never had been entered since the war of 1812). Democrats are growing impatient to get a new PResident who will have the ability to reduce pandemic deaths, illnesses, and the madness invading the continent.
There are demands again to impeach Donald Trump from his Presidency after the riots/storming of the Capitol. Pressure applied to Nancy Pelosi. Many of Trump’s administration officials resigned after the violence. Justice Department investigating pressing charges on Trump for inciting the mob. The Pandemic isn’t letting up as more than 4,000 deaths incurred from Covid was recorded yesterday, potentially reflected from holiday travel and gatherings. Fauci predicted things to get worse.
