The duo awoke around 7:30 am getting ready for e-school and a day of web development. They did their daily grind, having breakfast, and preparing the day’s course-work and homework assignments the teacher posted that morning. Cian did his 2nd-grade zoom class from 9-11:15 am, then independent study and lunch until 1:15. 1:15-2:20 pm he had his RLC class, and then from 3 pm -3:30 pm Physical Education. Dad did web development while Cian was doing his online classes.

During lunch break and after school, they noticed Fall was really settling in – it was nice seeing the trees change color. They worked on Halloween decorations on the patio in front of the garage. After school, they watched Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting. It was pretty fun they thought. Dad napped. Cian’s friend Colton from down the street rang the bell and wanted to show Cian his new expensive nerf gun that cost a couple of hundred dollars his parents bought him for his birthday. Crazy toy prices Oisin thought – same price as a real gun. That evening, they had mac and cheese with apples for dinner. Oisin concentrated on Web Development after Cian went to bed, then passing out from exhaustion.

That evening, Oisin caught up with the news on NPR and New York Times. The highlights were that China’s economy was rebounding from the Pandemic lockdown, the Dodgers reached the World Series, and the Supreme Court showed signs it was going to be friendlier to corporations. Amy Barrett stated she condemned white supremacy, assured that smoking caused cancer, and praised Brown vs. Board of Education that outlawed school segregation. She also called climate science controversial and declined to say whether Medicare was legal. There was a bit of struggle for power during her nomination as issues were focused on abortion, guns, and same-sex marriage. But in the limelight, the overriding goal is reducing corporate regulations and taxes as pushed by the Koch family who wants to stop “confiscatory taxes”, “safety and health regulations”, “trade barriers”, and “so-called equal opportunity requirements.” Many believe the rulings are one reason the incomes of the rich have risen so much in the last decade, than that of the middle class and poor.

It has been reported that China’s economic rebound has been moving fast since they gained control over the virus. In the U.S. a super spreader event for the Sturgis Motorcycle rally in South Dakota was blamed for mass numbers as over 500,000 people attended. The Cameron Peak Fire in Colorado became the largest recorded wildfire in state history. Disney began prefacing its classic film with warnings that they depict negative stereotypes to some cultures. The airbrush specialist Ed Benguiat died at 92 who was famous for airbrushing out cleavage in movie magazines.
