Bellingham – Ferndale – Maple Falls, Washington

With plans to do the Whatcom Pagan community Imbolc rite, Oisin got ready to meet Lady Etain in the morning for kid exchange. But then he was unable to reach her, and finally towards noon heard from her that they were running late. In addition part of I5 was closed due to a landslide and it was an extra hour delay with the detour. More and more it became apparent he wouldn’t get Cian in time to make the ritual. He’s been in need of community and doing some group networking again, so it was a bit of a downer. Etain was headed up to a Imbolc ritual weekend with her group renting a place on Whidbey Island. She made that one, Oisin didn’t his. They arrived too late as Oisin almost didn’t drive into Bellingham due to the flooding and weather issues. He did get through, meeting Etain and picking Cian up at Starbucks off Sunset. He logged into Grubhub at 10:40 only to find there were no shifts available at all for the week. Double downer and financial hit. He scheduled to go back down to Renton for the week to help Etain with her new job schedule, picking Cian up from her 6:30 in the morning, and dropping King Cian off at school at 8:30 am. Then picking him up from school every day at 3:00 pm, and spending time with him until his mom got off work and home between 6:30 and 8 pm evenings. He’s been volunteering in the classroom once a week as a teacher helper/ extra set of eyes. But his scheduling for work has been screwed. Weather issues and flooding hasn’t helped.

The roads in the Mt. Baker Wilderness were experiencing flooding issues. So he missed the public Imbolc Rite. He did some WebDev work while awaiting Cian and Etain. After Cian was dropped off, He and Cian went to the Arne Hannah Recreation Center for a swim using the Two-For-One pass he had received last time they went when Cian had a nosebleed and had to leave the pool. They attempted some “fishing” for GH orders, getting two at Tandori Bites – one of which was super easy since the customer mistakenly thought he had to come to the restaurant to get it – so Leaf was handed it from the waittress and handed it to the customer. For some reason, Tandori Bites doesn’t like Grubhub much, they much prefer DoorDash, whereas most restaurants prefer Grubhub over Doordash. They must have had a bad experience with a driver or something, Oisin thought.

They got in 4 deliveries, grabbed Panda Express for dinner, then they drove past the flooded roads back home into the Mt. Baker Wilderness for an evening of playing with army soldiers, Fortnite figurines, and games. They started to binge watch the new series: Ragnarok made in the Nordic countries until they got too tired and called it a night.
