Cascadia ~ Ferndale, Bellingham, Maple Falls, Washington State
01.01.20: Oisin and King Cian gig work in Ferndale and Bellingham while breaking at various beaches and parks.
The duo ventures out into Cascadia to start out the first day of the New Year. They discuss together the New Year and the fact that King Cian will be 7 years old in March. Cian stating he wants Dad to spend his birthday with him. They grab some grub, making up an omelet, and having cereal washed down with Orange Juice for breakfast.
Playing in Ferndale
Onward into Ferndale the gig workers check in with GrubHub for delivery offers. Oisin definitely needs to make money today as his two storage units’ rent is due that will be debited soon. Contemplating Starbucks they settle at Pioneer Days park to play Ninja and with King Cian’s robotic Dinosaur pet. They get a good amount of playtime before getting their first offer.

Beaches and Parks
Such an interesting 01.01.20, Wandering around Ferndale and Bellingham, Oisin and Cian were rewarded by visiting beaches and parks. Continuing through the day, Sir Oisin and King Cian play around Bellingham’s coast and Port. Duo exploring various beaches in Bellingham while awaiting offers from Grub Hub. Spending most of the day at the Port of Bellingham around the old historic structures and the cobbled beach. Shortly, they finally get some offers.
At one of the beaches, King Cian finds some polished smoothed bottle glass on the beach that he collected. They received approximately 4 deliveries for the day. The first stop was Vitality Bowl then three orders from Tandoori Bites averaging $12.22/hour. (well below the minimum wage, and before wear/tear, fuel, taxes, and other expenses). They took some takeout from Panda Express for a late lunch. The King had the Orange Chicken kids meal with chow mein, while Dad had his usual Honey Walnut Shrimp bowl. They also grabbed some groceries from Fred Meyers on their way home as well as gas. They checked the Goodwill for some found treasure.
Mt Baker Wilderness
Afterward, they made their way back into the foothills of Mt. Baker, snug as bugs in the rug. Meatloaf for dinner, action play with Minecraft Dragon Lego set, Space Shuttle Lego set, and Fortnight figurines dominated the evening. King Cian took a bath while dad working out the knots in his hair.
Movie Time
Watching “Elf-Man” – a whimsical elf who was left behind by Santa. Elf-Man saves a single dad scientist who had been kidnapped and held hostage for a disk of secret data. The kids pump the Elf with courage and name him “Elf-Man” who comes to save the day. Elf-Man releases the dad and catching the bad guys.
The duo had slept, and King Cian slowly began to get through his jet lag. Cian’s been suffering since Saturday’s return from Ireland. Back on schedule, in bed by 9:30 pm, they began getting back to a schedule.
