06.16.14: Ashlandia: The Leaf & Dragon – SCA, Malificent, and Sauce

Ashland, Oregon

Another day, another dollar- and that couldn’t be more the truth as the merchants experienced in their first week open. Traffic into the “Leaf and Dragon” shoppe was slow as mondays seem to crawl in the heart of Ashlandia. Sir Thomas Leaf and Lady Etain awoke early to grab the extra fridge from storage only to find out it must have been damaged itself in the move from Blodgett as it wasn’t cooling up like it used to. “Uggh.” Sir Thomas Leaf thought. The delvers were at the store from 9 am until 6:30 pm, getting items ordered, inventory priced, store cleaned, and greeting new patrons wandering in. Two wonderfully spirited girls from Southern California, SCA re-enactors who were fans of Jelling Dragon wandered in and excited about the Thor’s hammers and Viking jewelry Sir Rob Wildwood had displayed. They made some purchases as did some other cool folk coming on in. Sir Thomas Leaf and Lady Etain really enjoying meeting the locals and the tourists while they populated their little cave with treasures and goodies. After work while checking on a free craigslist display case young prince Cian passed out so the merchants decided to try taking in a movie – Malificent was playing and they both wanted to see it. Magnicifent movie they thought but unfortunately Lady Etain missed most of it as the Prince of Endurance woke up during the film and just got restless, wanting to walk and babble. Afterwards, they headed next door to
Sauce for some great wholesome healthy food – Sir Thomas Leaf got the tofu peanut wrap and a damn good chai … thinking Sauce might be one of our favorite restaurants in Ashlandia. The smell of dusty rain sparked up from the pavement as Ashlandia got some long awaited rain. (No rain for the last few weeks) Onwards to the RV for some writing and catching up online they had a Good night!
