Dublin, Ireland
The explorers got off to a late start in the day and overcast skies gave a message that the sun would not be out. A major highlight though occurred on this date as Cian, the Prince of Endurance, has had some of his teething pains pay off as he finally received his first two teeth … bottom incisors. He was quite the character on this date, going through lots of play butt-scooting along the floor (instead of crawling), beginning to want to stand up clinging to the tables, and rolling around the floor. He loved being tickled and chased. He represents as true “bundle of joy”. To avoid dealing with parking, tolls, and congestion – the trio headed out from Lady Etain’s brother’s house where they are staying to the Railway to board the train to Dublin. An hour later they were back where they definitely felt like was ‘home’ … Dublin … where they spent living their first year together and the city where prince Cian was conceived. Onwards they went to their favorite Burrito Bar (Little Ass Burrito) and Starbucks on Dawson street. They had their favorite vegetarian burrito – The Super Batata – a sweet potato burrito to die for. Perusing bookstores looking for books on holy wells and frequenting favorite haunts, they made their way over to the Museum of Archaeology Ireland for the Medieval Xmas event they were hosting.
They perused medieval clothing, instruments, and artifacts in the display cases, enjoyed the tunes of medieval musicians and comedy-magic shows of bards-in-training, and learned candle-making tapers the medieval way. Storytelling time on the bear rug furs and other crafts were highlights of the event. Afterwards they perused the Viking and Medieval exhibits, learning about food from the age, relics, artifacts, weapons, armor, and tools from the Viking age. It was a bit difficult for them to hop up and down the levels with the stroller as no elevator was offered for the exhibit wings. Back into the evening streets of Dublin, they grabbed a Chai Crème Frappuccino® from the Dawson street Starbucks and headed back to the train. Late arrival home, they settled in with takeaway and catching up on their shows Lost Girl and Revolution.
These tales don’t come cheap … if you enjoy them, please consider buying the adventurers a chai, a meal, a tank of gas, or lodging so they can continue on their quest … you can do so via paypal to [email protected] or via the link below …
