* Dublin, Ireland *
The adventurers were weary after the run-a-bout from Dublin to Loughcrew and back to Dublin for the keys last night so slept in a bit to recover. By afternoon they were ready to venture into the city – Prince Cian’s first visit back to the city he was conceived in since he crawled out of the belly. They walked to the train station, waited about a half-hour for the train whilst entertaining the Prince of Endurance who always likes to be on the move, and soon enough was en route to the City Center.
They instantly felt like they were home and back in their hometown, which they felt was odd since they were both not originally from there – just spending a year together living the city life after they first met in Black Rock City Nevada. They hit their old haunts, such as Sir Thomas Leaf’s Technogypsie roost at Starbucks, a thai takeout Sir Thomas liked, and into the Temple Bar for a Boxty. Sir Thomas Leaf had previously believed, from his 2010 visit, that “Boxty” was a traditional Irish fare. His wife, Lady Etain, assured him it was not. He was hoping for the sensational meal he remembered from back then, but given the restaurant had a slightly different name, different look, and decor … he was confused. The waiter assured him that it was all the same with a new look.
The food however was not, Sir Thomas Leaf felt, the boxty he remembered was nothing like he originally learned. It was a bit of a disappointment to him. An overpriced one at that. What was formerly known as “Gallagher’s Boxty House” had changed to simply “The Boxty House. A fine evening was had by the adventuring family as they wandered Temple Bar and some shops before heading back to Lady Etain’s brother’s house where they dwelt during their stay.

* Dublin, Ireland *
We were weary after the run-a-bout from Dublin to Loughcrew and back to Dublin for the keys last night so slept in a bit to recover. By afternoon we were ready to venture into the city – Cian’s second visit back to the city he was conceived in since he crawled out of the belly. We walked to the train station, waited about a half-hour for the train whilst entertaining Cian who always likes to be on the move, and soon enough we were en route to the City Center. We instantly felt like they were home and back in their hometown, which we felt was odd since we were both not originally from here – just spending a year together living the city life after we first met in Black Rock City Nevada. We hit our old haunts, such as my favorite Starbucks, a thai takeout I liked, and into the Temple Bar for a Boxty. I had previously believed, from my 2010 visit, that “Boxty” was a traditional Irish fare. My wife assured me it was not. I was hoping for the sensational meal I remembered from back then, but given the restaurant had a slightly different name, different look, and decor … I was confused. The waiter assured me that it was all the same with a new look. The food however was not, I felt, the boxty I remembered was nothing like I originally learned. It was a bit of a disappointment to me. An overpriced one at that. What was formerly known as “Gallagher’s Boxty House” had changed to simply “The Boxty House. A fine evening was had nonetheless by us as we wandered Temple Bar and some shops before heading back to Etain’s brother’s house where we stayed while in Dublin.
