The adventurers finally had their thanksgiving mini-vacation break they so badly needed after all that took place over the last few weeks. Finding a really cheap deal online they checked into the Brookings Holiday Resort for $50/night with indoor pool, hot tub, large rooms with fridge/microwave, free (although spotty) wifi. The morning was met with a free breakfast of waffles, sausage, biscuits and gravy, egg, hot/cold cereal, juice / tea / coffee, yogurt, and muffin selections. Then Sir Thomas took Prince Cian for a dip in the pool to the ecstatic playfulness they enjoyed, the new game that Cian is addicted to, getting out of the pool to the ledge, jumping to daddy down below over and over again. This kid really loves the water, just as any Pisces does. After a nice swim, some catching up with internet, the adventurers headed out to the beach and then into California to pick up the last of their California WIC groceries – now moving back to Oregon they’ll have to apply back in their home state.

They stopped at the Harris Beach South and climbed down the path to the sand, walked a bit towards the waves, and found a great place for the Prince of Endurance to play in the sand. He used his toy JCB to plow the sand, collected drift wood to build forts, and swing around sea kelp bulbs like Indiana Jones’ whips. Tossing driftwood into the waves while watching them pull the wood back out to sea was quite fascinating by the wee one. After a good hour and a half of sea time, the crew headed back on the road towards California. They pitstopped at the giant Ship Ashore but the gift shop and museum within was closed. The California fruit border patrol asked them if they had anything to declare, notta, although they would be bringing Calfornia produce back to Oregon without the need to declare backwards. Into Crescent City they went to Safeway to get the allotted milk, cheese, eggs, peanut butter, bread, juice, and fruit/veggies. Then back across the border towards Brookings, they stopped for some Fish n’ Chips for lunch in the harbor as well as a stop at the Grocery Outlet to get the demanding Prince some “Cheese puffs” and let him see some “ships” both of which he pulled a terrible two crying fit to have. A walk down through the docks of Brookings Harbor to view the ships, see a seal, and gallop along the planks was all he needed to be satiated while munching on cheese puffs. The fish n’ chips at the Hungry Clam afterwards were delicious. Tired, the weary travellers headed back to the motel for some rest. A stop off at Goodwill gave Lady Etain a swim suit so she could go in for a hot tub and swim with Sir Thomas and the Prince of Endurance. After a nice swim they headed back to the room to watch the last two episodes and the newest release of “The Walking Dead” which cradled them to sleep shortly after.
