09.26.08: Kan’nal and the Mermaids

Colorado SpringsDenver, Colorado

Sir Thomas was excited as he finished up work at Fort Carson to head up to Denver meeting old friends coming in for a concert. The day at work seemed to drag a bit as if often does when one is over anxious to see age-old friends. Lady Wendy was visiting with her friend Lady Kyndra from Oregon, checking out schools in Boulder that they’d potentially like to attend next year. As soon as Sir Thomas got off work, he was able to reach Wendy through Kyndra’s cell to coordinate meeting at Blue Moon Asian Cuisine and Sushi Bar before they all headed off to the Kan’nal concert.

Thing is, that afternoon, these two mesmerizing mermaids were already indulging in much fish at the all-u-can-eat Sushi bar in Boulder. The explorers arrived 40 minutes early, pretty much simultaneously, to Blue Moon where Sir Thomas met Lady Kyndra for the first time (though she seemed devilishly familiar as if he met her before); and got to see his sister Mermaid Wendy who he hadn’t seen for ages. Really connected with both of them, and as it turned out all three of them were water spirits = triple Pisces energy all hanging out together. Sushi, Sake, and lots of fascinating chatting. Sir Thomas was completely in awe of these magical mermaids from the West coast. He thought however, they had way too much sake.

The trio headed over to Cervantes Theater, grabbed their tickets, and wandered on in – they ordered more drinks, and all got quite toasted – and being a higher elevation, the alcohol hit the girls quicker and stronger than expected. Dancing, frolicking, friskiness … merged with the music and artistic talents of the phenomenal tribal psychodelic rock band Kan’nal they were mesmerized and in bliss. The concert was fantastic as was all the songs, the performance art accompanying the concert was fabulous and stunning – especially sticking in his mind was the VJ projector work on the scarves as screens being spun by the spinner. Amazing, sir Thomas thought. The fire spinning was pretty stunning as well. Kan’nal had definitely become more of a favorite band for sir Thomas by this year.

Needing to sober up, the crew hit Barracuda’s for breakfast. Sir Doug who had gone to Cruxshadows came to join them and offered his place to crash for the evening. The adventurers had a fabulous night and Sir Thomas was quite blessed by these two mermaids with inspirations and fantastical dreams acting as two muse to … inspiring him back into his art, writing, and research. Sir Thomas also became quite smitten with Lady Kyndra feeling a deep connection with her.
