Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Early to rise after a restful sleep, our adventuring trio caught up with their Irish family / hosts over a nice breakfast with the whole motley crew. Sir Thomas Leaf caught up with some blogging and article writing before and after breakfast, then the adults moved to the back patio as Sir Leaf’s asthma was triggered by the cats in the house. Good conversations were had and by 1 pm, the adventurers were back in their vardo on the road to Occoquan.

The vardo was slow moving as they progressed northward at an average speed of 55-62 mph. The skies were bright with one small rain shower to pass through. They drove through North Carolina and up into Virginia to the small town of Occoquan. Around 7 pm, they navigated their way to Sir Thomas Leaf’s 20+ years of friendship extended family Lady Kay who used to help him run Tree Leaves’ Oracle back in its founding days, was part of Leafworks and was an integral part of their magic circle. She now runs the Haunted Occoquan Ghost Tour. She hopped into her car and guided the weary travelers to the Prince William Forest Park on the the campground.

Since Lady Kay has cats, Sir Thomas Leaf couldn’t stay in her place with the asthma, plus there was nowhere to park the vardo (RV). The trio set up camp, leveled the vardo, and set in for primitive camping (no electric/water). Using solar torches and solar fairy lights, the camp was well lit as well as the inside of the vardo. They trio started up a campfire and cooked up some salmon, rice, and veggies for dinner. Campfire tales and chatter over glasses of wine was had, with fireflies dancing in the dark forest. The moon overhead was a super moon, and the trio bask in the gorgeous light. Farewells were had til morning as the adventurers settled into sleep, and Lady Kay trekked back to her home.
