* Los Angeles, California *
It is time for the brave adventurers to time travel, back to the land of Sir Thomas Leaf’s youth. Lady Etain, unprepared for this journey needed to stock up on her time travel sickness pills, available at the corner Time Travel Mart in Echo Park. Every city has supplies for time travelers, but one has to be a time jumper to know where to find them. Lady Etain stirred Sir Thomas Leaf and prince Cian for their journey into the land of the lost souls. showered and dressed, they got into their Explorer vardo and headed off into downtown Echo Park (suburb of the City of Lost Angels). They drove onto Sunset blvd, and hit the Echo Park Time Travel Mart (cleverly disguised as a 826LA learning center). Checking out sundries, Sir Thomas Leaf skipped past the Mammoth chunks and caveman candy, dinosaur eggs, and leeches to find the Medieval Money Laundry, finding two ancient coins for bartering. He was a bit disappointed that the hyper slushee machine was still broken. He didn’t need robot milk or robot emotions elixirs this time around. He did need the time travel sickness pills for Lady Etain. They finally found them in full stock. A few leeches as well just in case of sickness.
Hungry, the delvers left the shop and headed to the Green Leaves Vegan restaurant. Sir Thomas Leaf got his “usual”, the fake-chicken seitan drumstick dinner with broccoli, carrots, and squash, red rice, and a fresh coconut water out of the shell with flesh to eat of. Young prince Cian was very curious about that coconut. Lady Etain got her delicious gluten free pancake fix, and they split tofu dumplings as an appetizer. Green Leaves is across the street from No Place Like Home, another fabulous restaurant they hope to frequent on the way back through the city of Lost Angels. As part of Lady Etain’s upcoming Winter Solstice gift, he treated her to highlights and a haircut. They tried to do Rudy’s, but they were too busy, so she chose Super cuts, whilst Sir Thomas Leaf played with prince Cian in the Explorer vardo and did solar powered mifi/WiFi juiced blogging.
From Super cuts, they explored Hollywood and its hills, driving past Minnie and Mickie Mouse, Captain Jack Sparrow, Iron Man, various theaters, and the museum of curiosities. Up around Mulholland drive, they took in the L.A. cityscape, Hollywood sign, and homes in the hills. More scenic driving around Santa Monica blvd, Melrose, and Hollywood Blvd as they made their way into Beverly Hills for a gander.
Back at Docteur Mangor’s house of wyrd, Sir Thomas Leaf made a tempeh driven pad Thai with a side of Pacific Northwest wild salmon for the group’s dinner, as the various explorers packed up for their long journey into the American southwest tomorrow morning. Early night for well rested visions, the adventurers went to sleep after Prince Cian and Winter had their play date.

Early to rise, Etain got me out of bed so we could do a day’s explorations around L.A. First stop was the Echo Park Time Travel Mart, for supplies and novelties. Love the concept of that shop. Then onwards to Green Leaves Vegan Restaurant for my favorite Seitan Drum Stick dinner and fresh coconut milk. Etain was in her glory as they had yummy gluten-free pancakes. We then wandered over to Rudy’s for Etain to have a hair cut and coloring done. They were too busy, so she went to Supercuts across the street while me and Cian hung out in the car doing solar-powered wifi/mifi and blogging. Afterwards, we drove up around Mulholland Drive, for a view of Hollywood Hill homes, the Hollywood sign, and the Los Angeles cityscape. Then onwards down Hollywood blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, and on into Beverly Hills. Driving along Melrose, we made our way back to Echo Park to spend time with Docteur Mangor, Angela, Julie, and a play date between Cian and Winter. I made up some tempeh powered pad thai and Northwest wild salmon for the group’s dinner. Then packing ensued and preparing for our journey out to the wild west tomorrow. Good night!
