Klamath Falls-Bonanza, Oregon
Early to rise at the Days Inn, Sir Thomas crept out of the hotel room not to awake Lady Etain and the Prince who were sound asleep. He went down to the breakfast buffet to meet up with the crew and have some grub. They climbed into the cars and headed off to the survey area known as Bryant Mountain. They spent the morning getting their bearings and checking out the access roads, then went in for some surveying. After a long day of hiking and looking for archaeological resources on formerly burnt lands from wildfires last year they returned to the hotel.
The crew explored surveying across juniper scrub lands with metamorphic and lava rocks that were sharp ready to scrape a knee that falls upon it. They hiked up and over rock outcrops discovering rock shelters and walls with rock art as well as lithic scatters nearby. There were astounding views of crevices, rugged valleys, and shrub lands. Sir Thomas was curious about various flowers, light phosphorous green lichen/moss on the tree branches, yellow and purple flowers that he wants to identify. They discovered some arrowheads and points as well today.
Sir Thomas went to the hotel room to gather Lady Etain and the Prince. They went for a walk down the road to do errands. The adventurers stopped at the Grocery Outlet to get some provisions and ran to the post office to mail off an internet order. They dropped by Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat then headed back to the hotel for sleep.
Sir Thomas was disturbed by the victories expected from presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton achieved in New York today and the outright anarchistic approach being used to woo delegates in the campaigning. Sir Thomas was worried about his friends in Houston who were dealing with major flooding that already took 8 lives and thousands having to be relocated to higher ground. There was hope today in the Danish Island of Samso which was breaching new sustainability achievements over global warming in a Viking-like farming manner along the 20 mile long strip of villages and farms. Reports from scientists came up wit ha study saying that lonely adults are more likely to suffer some of the most dangerous maladies than those who are social butterflies and/or involved in relationships. Sir Thomas was happy that he had a loving wife, beautiful son, and astounding community of friends and extended family. He definitely felt more happy because of it. The Arizona suspect who recently shot people on the freeway was released from jail. That Sir Thomas never understood. In St. Louis, another black man was shot by a white officer. Fidel Castro urged Cubans to preserve socialist ideals. More quake victims were being recovered today from the Ecuador quake’s aftermath. Good news that Obama signed today a funding bill to fight the Zika virus.
