Honeyman State Park, Oregon

The temperatures dropped down to thirty degrees fahrenheit as the weary adventurers nestled down deeper under their sleeping bags atop the futon in the back of their merchant trailer to the sounds of diesels passing in and out of the rest stop. Sir Thomas made a mental note that during winter nights he needs to put up the laptop in their bags as morning condensation is gathering on them. However due to the battery issues with the near dead backup laptops, they were only able to get about 20 minutes of viewing of the most recent episode of “The Walking Dead” last night.

After awaking around 7:30 am, Sir Thomas checked the radiator – a gray white sludge in the tank was concerning him as well as having antifreeze smells coming off the engine. He topped up the levels and checked the oil as they were way over due for an oil change but lacking funds to do one. Sir Thomas made Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as they pitstopped at the Halsey City Park for Prince Cian to play on the jungle gym. It was a very nice park with clean bathrooms, covered picnic tables, , water fountains, skate park, laying fields, swings, slide, and equipment. Nice rest stop. They proceeded to Eugene from there, past through Harrisburg then Junction City, They drove into Eugene for a flashback walk around where Sir Thomas useed to live and visited Skinner Butte Park for the Young Prince to wander and play. No one was available to meet up with the adventurers so they headed off towards Veneta with a few pitstops here and there. They droped by the Salvation Army ad the Goodwill to window shop since they were too broke to get anything. They did however find some toilet training pants for Prince Cian at $1.25 they couldn’t pass up.

Prince Cian entered a new phase of tantrums, whining, and hitting when he doesn’t get his way. They visited Lady Laume in Veneta for Vegan Grilled Cheese sandwiches and tea nestled in her handmade tea covers, while catching up along the backdrop of her fairy garden. Prince Cian played with the grandkids’ toy cars. The adventurers bid farewell, heading into Florence to the Sand Dunes. They drove into the Oregon Sand Dunes for camping at Honeyman State park. Along the way they gathered fire wood, then found a suitable camp site by the Dune trail and set up camp. Lady Etain made gluten free pasta while Sir Thomas took the Prince to the park to play. Prince Cian loved going down the slide and pretended it was a pirate ship. He took the helm and said “Arrrgghh!!!!” Then he said “Yo Ho Ho, Let’s Go!”. Prince Cian played hide-n-go-seek, then joined dad and mom for dinner. Sir THomas lit a fire and they sat underneath a clear sky of stars. A good day exploring the dunes at Honeyman State Park the adventurers had fun.

As temperatures dropped the adventurers went into the cargo trailer for bedtime and watched another episode of “The Walking Dead”.
