Sumas, Washington

Oisin and Cian were up very early at 7:30 am, as Cian wanted to watch some cartoons before class. The wind was howling outside. They had Sausage/Egg/Cheese croissantwiches for breakfast with Orange Juice. Cian did his 9 am – 11:15 am 2nd-grade zoom class followed by a 15-minute Speech class over zoom. While Cian was in class, he worked on web development, blogs, vlogs, and client work. Dad heard things blowing around outside, so went to investigate, having to wrap up some of the decorations and fight to keep the bamboo wall screen up.

After battening down the hatches, Cian had independent study and lunch. Dad made Pumpkin Cinnamon rolls for snacks, and corn dogs for lunch. Cian was fascinated by his mummy skeleton dancing decoration he got at Grocery Outlet. Cian had his 1:15-2:20 pm RLC class, then his 3-330 Library class. After school, they did some Grubhub delivery and worked on the warehouse. Dad made leftover Orange Chicken for dinner, with pumpkin ravioli. They binge-watched the final season of “The 100”. After Cian was asleep, dad worked on web development and client work.

Following the news on NPR and the New York Times, reports are China completed Covid testing on all nine million residents of one city. The Barret confirmation hearings continued and Trump/Biden hit the campaign trail. The feds also accelerated its farm subsidies ahead of Election Day so that government support will account for 40% of total US farm income this year. Facebook also announced it would ban any content/postings that “denies or distorts the Holocaust.” Protests in Portland focused on the treatment of Native Americas, toppling statues of Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Signs of Halloween not being disrupted much from the pandemic shows some light, sales of Halloween decorations are in the cross-hairs, and many more sales than usual. Many are decorating their houses rather than throwing parties or focusing on trick or treating.
