Renton – Bellingham – Maple Falls, Washington
Unforeseen plans caused Oisin and Cian having to skip school for the day as Oisin needed to head north to Bellingham for work. Oisin had to take Cian with him since his mom couldn’t pick Cian up after school due to some work training. This was the circumstance for the rest of the week. So Oisin had to shift around his delivery schedule and cancel some shifts in order to accommodate the work emergency. Originally the plan was that Oisin would help out on Monday, then take Cian to scouts on Tuesday, then head back to Maple Falls on Wednesday. Her changes in work scheduling, commute times, training, and new work schedules created a domino effect that Oisin would have to shift his to make it all work out.
He was unable to drop the day’s shifts on this date as it was too late and would affect his ratings. Oisin already dropped enough work shifts endangering his ratings that would lead to no work opportunities in the weeks to come. Up by 5:30 am, Oisin sped over to Etain’s house at 6:30 am, grabbing Cian then driving 2 1/2 hours north. It wasn’t until they arrived in Bellingham that Oisin discovered Cian only had his pajamas on, as his mom forgot to dress him, or send a change of clothes.
On NPR – Oisin hear that Iran bombed an American base in Iraq. He also heard a news report that Chinese researchers identified the source of the virus contagion as coronavirus and began scrambling to contain the contagion. News came out in Britain that Prince harry and Meghan announced today that they would “step back” from their official duties. The Queen had not approved their plans to be part-time royals, so they had to give up their royal titles. They would eventually depart late March and move to Los Angeles, California.
He then juggled phone calls trying to re-schedule a Look due to the change in plans for watching Cian. They pit stopped at Starbucks for Chai n’ WiFi doing Web Development, hosting client meetings, juggling work, and parenting. His energy was very drained, especially after the 2.5 hour commute. He needed to do an Auto Claims look in Mount Vernon, but couldn’t reach the client, and the customer had no voicemail, so the Look had to be put on hold.

They spent late morning and afternoon awaiting for delivery offers. They achieved a 8 and a half hour delivery day. They stopped off at Boulevard Park on the ocean front to do a lunch picnic and to play on the beach in between deliveries. Several pit stops at Starbucks working on client sites and playing games together. The day was remarkable though for Oisin as he realized that Bellingham was enchanting him and he was falling for the city even during a on/off rainy day as today was. They skipped rocks while skipping school due to work obligations and no way to get to and from school that day. It was bonding.

After their 8.5 shift driving between Fairhaven, Ferndale, and Bellingham alternating park n’ beaches with deliveries they drive on into the Mt. Baker Wilderness after an ice cream stop at KFC/A&W. They were powdered by a snow storm alternating to rain and working well into the evening until 10 pm. They grabbed sleep for the night at their room in Maple Falls only to have to awake at 5:30 am in order to head back to Renton for school. It was a draining day.
