11.24.95: Thanksgiving Crushes

Off from school, Sir Thomas and Princess Breanna worked Thanksgiving Dinner preparations. They were at their country house for the weekend. She was supposed to go to her mom’s, but Lady Kimberly couldn’t afford the airfare and didn’t have the time for visitation. Princess Breanna was disappointed and didn’t believe father that she wasn’t coming to get her. She dressed up in her finest dress and sat down at the mailbox by the road for a couple of hours waiting for mom to come get her. She never showed (as she lives in Texas and told the father she couldn’t make it), it was a bit of work to comfort the Princess. Sir Thomas was overwhelmed with life, single parenting, full-time graduate school, and full-time work at the National Park Service. He did enjoy this extended weekend off for the holidays. He was glad that his daughter was there to share it with him although she really wanted to be with her mom. In some ways, he felt like she blamed him even though it was his mother who just couldn’t make ends meet for the plane ticket. Sir Thomas was also lonely, as the only women showing interest wanted polyamory as they had other partners, and he was simply their secondary. Graduate comp exams were looming over him and he didn’t feel prepared, plus the department declared they were going to add in a Linguistics course requirement. He was already completed with coursework and had hoped he could grandfather in and avoid that.

Sir Thomas and Princess Breanna made their own thanksgiving plans inviting friends over for the day. They made up a smorgasbord of food and had a ritual fire, festivities were had all day and an early night.

Sir Thomas’ best friend Sir Jeff gave him his old desk so that he could get progressively better at organizing his business The Tree Leaves’ Oracle. He was horrible at writing and knew he needed to write Lady Hena a letter.

That evening Sir Thomas laid down on his bed instead of using the new desk as it was more comfortable and wrote his crush, still hiding his feelings as he believed she was still committed to Sir Jason. He was still mesmerized with her and hoped they would travel the world together someday – albeit as friends instead of partners.
