* Mesa, Arizona to Alamogordo, New Mexico *
The adventurers were up early bidding a sweet farewell to their magical extended family Lady Shannon and her clan. Onwards they drove over to Sir Rob Wildwood’s hotel to pick him up for the expedition out west towards New Mexico. They pit stopped at the local Starbucks in Mesa for chai and energy, fueling up for a long stretch down the highway 70 and Route 491 (formerly Rte 666 – The Devil’s Highway) on through Globe, down through New Mexico border, and then back onto Interstate 10 through the darkness into Alamogordo. Along the way they spied many tree cactus, rock formations, and intriguing landscapes. When pulled over, they discovered a man down in the gully panning for gold. They spent all day driving in hopes to catch up to Docteur Mangor, Lady Angela, and Prince Winter, but to fate’s turn of events, wound up not catching up to them as the other party of delvers were caught up and delayed in Tombstone talking to the ghosts of the past. A New Mexico sunset later they didn’t make White Sands in time before it closed its gates as they had planned. They had to cross over a border check station that oddly was in the middle of New Mexico. The passports were cleared for Sir Rob from England and Lady Etain from Ireland. They drove into Alamogordo seeking lodging at the Motel 6. They headed out for dinner at a really bad Mexican restaurant, grabbed groceries at a local chain called Lowes afterwards, then heading back to the hotel for some shuteye. Docteur Mangor, Lady Angela, and Prince Winter finally made it to town, all passing out for a night’s rest.
