Tersoal, Holland – Berlin, Germany
Sir Thomas awoke from a wonderful night’s sleep in the comfy confines of Lady Kait’s and Sir Theo’s abode in Tersoal. He did have a little jetlag still racing through his system. The scent of a delicious breakfast awaited him as Kait prepared morning fare before showing Sir Thomas around the village. The land of canals and bicycles was very attractive to Sir Thomas. Still not accustomed to the practice of keeping a motorcycle in one’s living room, was an intriguing view that morning. Sir Theo was off to work as Sir Thomas, Lady Kait, and the wee one headed off for a walk around the neighborhood. They walked over to the local churchyard where Sir Thomas took photos of the local graves. He was looking for clues about the journey. He could not decipher alot of the graves written in Dutch/German and the native language.

He did find a rusty medieval key within a basket on a decorated grave with offerings that had triggered something in Sir Thomas’ consciousness, but he placed it back in the basket without thinking of it having substantial meaning for the future. After a nice walk and lunch with Lady Kait, Sir Thomas hopped into his rental chariot and headed off to Berlin.
He drove down from Sneek, through Houre and into Heerenveen, past the canals and wind turbines. What a lovely country of utilizing natural energy Sir Thomas thought. He continued into Drachten onwards to Groningen. Around the border to Germany, Sir Thomas got a bit lost. As he was circling around confused with a mistaken exit, he was driving behind a police car which was also going slow. They noticed him driving slow and confused and pulled over in front of him, signaling for Sir Thomas to pull over as well. They pretended not to know English, making the confrontation difficult. Then as Sir Thomas pulled out his German dictionary, they opened up to speaking English as they realized they would be there all day. They questioned him on why he’s here, where did he visit, was he coming from Amsterdam, did he have drugs or pot, why was he visiting Tersoal, and made motions to search his vehicle for drugs. After finding out that he worked for the military and did not have contraband, they let him on his way. He drove into Bunde, Leer, Westerstede, Oldenburg, and into Bremen using the A24 and A7. He continued his 652 km journey onwards through Seevetal, Basthorst, Neuruppin, and into Berlin.
That evening, Sir Thomas arrived at Lady Rainey’s place. They had warm hugs and lots of catching up to do. A dear friend from Vancouver, British Columbia during his life there, she too had moved from North America to Europe as did Lady Kait. It was a nice homecoming. They had some dinner and caught up at a local gothic bar that served absinthe. It was nice to have a indulge in the Green Fairy Sir Thomas thought. Sir Thomas slept soundly that night with dreams of the epic journey before him.
