Columbia, South Carolina, USA
Groggy dead asleep with the alarm clock on consistent snooze, numbers scrambling my head, it was next to impossible to pull me out of bed. My love however persisted and achieved it by 7:10 am for me – shower, dress, and a pop on the laptop to see my shopping cart hadn’t updated properly. Can’t bother with it this morning, so will keep the old version alive and mess with the new one later tonight (hopefully).
No time for breakfast, threw on my coat, and stepped out to a warm humid morning, and quickly removed it. Into the Jeep in case my love needs the van, and off I was to work.
skies looked like storm front was moving in, but it was high 60’s going into early 70’s even at 8 am. it felt wonderful and refreshing during the heart of winter here in the south.
Onwards into work, i was the last to arrive. Another day running late. Gotta get more sleep. Back to clipping artwork for physical training postures to be used in IMI development applications. A trip down to the shoppette for breakfast resulted in a veggie snack tray and rockstars.
On a good note, i finally found a place that sells Ostrich. Bird Brain Ranch in North Carolina, only a 2 1/2 hour drive away. Granted, that’s a 5 hour round trip, so it’ll have to be some weekend. The old tyme meat market on Rosewood drive carries alligator, bison, and elk … so I think i’m squared away. I can finally manage to quit chicken and beef to get back to being free range and prehistoric diet. I need to do something about my health now that i’m back in a sit-on-your-ass stare at the monitor and code job again without hiking, fresh air, and sunshine. All in the name of family planning … its time to nest. Its been a bit of an adjustment on that end, not getting up and taking off for a worldly adventure … but its a new adventure all in its own. My love hasn’t been feeling too hot, pregnancy has been rough on here. Can’t believe its just over a month away and baby Cian will be with us. Getting ready for the baby shower this weekend. Lots to do around the house.
Today’s dilemma is that my love’s cousin is popping through time right when the last Hypnobirthing class is tonight (a class we can’t miss) and the resolution seems to be me taking the class and doing notes and her visiting with family. Hope i can remember everything.
Morning sped through and by 12:45 pm realized i hadn’t had lunch. Trader Joe’s Corn and cheese tamales was on the menu. Delicious.
Dilemma solved. My love contacted her teacher and is going to her house tomorrow to learn the material, so i’m off the hook having to do the class alone tonight and can actually meet her cousins from Ireland.
Isolated thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings today and tonight. great. 81 degrees fahrenheit … hot day in mid winter.
Got home, my love had the house spotless for her cousin’s visit, and appetizers of salmon/cream cheese on crackers, and wine to await them. They arrived around 7, then we all went to Harper’s in 5 points for dinner. Had the Canadian salmon, a glass of wine, and a fresh squeezed lemonade. Delicious. Good basic restaurant with a higher class dining atmosphere. Everyone was tired after dinner, cousins went to their hotel, we home to pass out early, its been an exhausting week so far.
