In the wee dawn hours of the morning, Sir Thomas awoke way before dawn and drove his Isis Adventure Thru Time to the Denver International Airport, parked in short term, and boarded the air dragon United to the Portland Oregon Airport. The flight was quiet, Sir Thomas was groggy, and he was able to achieve a short nap on the flight. Once they landed, he gathered his gear and then he made his way down to Budget Car rentals where he picked up his radiant orange chariot.
With the day free before the Faerie world’s “Pirates vs. Faeries” Masquerade Ball, Sir Thomas took up Lady Wendy’s offer of a visit to Breitenbush Hot springs.
He drove down to Salem, took the highway weaving across the mountains to the Detroit Dam and Lake. Sir Thomas took some empowering breaths of air at the Big Cliff / Detroit Lake and Dams then took the forest roads up to the Hot Springs. He entered into the employee/staff entrance and hunted down Lady Kyndra and Lady Wendy for a brief visit. Hanging with family, they soaked, caught up, played pirates, and frolicked in the woods.
He realized this would be one of his last visits to the healing magic of Breitenbush before setting off Down Under and on to Europe. A trip he had hoped would become his new home far and beyond the shores of the Americas. So this trip to see friends and extended family, visit Faerie world’s clans and tribes for the last time in a long while, was very important to Sir Thomas. It was part of his saying goodbye and letting go. He had hoped his prophecies would come true, and he would be bound to a new life, a new adventure, and a resolve of his universal questions. A Quest of a lifetime awaited him in his Living Myth.
Towards evening, he headed down the mountains towards Eugene, Oregon. Once near main street, he gathered with his band of mischievious faeries for a stroll down Willamette street, the shops, and restaurants. Some food and fun, great conversations and pre-partying, they were soon on their way into the theater for the ball. Everyone’s costumes were to the nines in fantasy fare and decor. As they headed into the McDonald theater for the ““Pirates vs. Faeries” Neverworlds/Faerieworlds Winter Celebration Masquerade Ball lots of familiar faces were seen. Old and new friends, faces with smiles, laughter and joy, the friends and family re-united for great music, frolick, fun, dance, and drink. Woodland was enchanting as usual on stage as the premiere act for the evening. A magical band that had become festival friends he’d share adventures with around the world in Belgium, Cornwall, and the Americas. They became familiar, mesmerizing, and a comforting sound to drive his life and quests. Between Woodland, Qntal, Faun, and Beats Antique … the soundtracks of his living Myth were encompassing. The performances were spectacular.
Afterwards, Sir Thomas headed back towards Portland for his morning return flight on Saturday. It was a quick visit to family. He stopped at a rest area outside of Salem for several hours of sleep in the car before his flight. The highway buzzed and lulled him to sleep.
