It is known to cleanse, detoxify, and exfoliate the skin; also used in detoxifying body wraps, soap making, face masks, cleansers, scrubs, cosmetics, and facial powders. Said to be composed of Illite, Kaolinite, Montmorillonite, and Calcite. It is derived from Hematite Iron rock, red in color, with velvet texture. According to folk belief, it is said to be best for normal, oily, flaky, and acne-prone skin. No scientific evidence for the medicinal claims it has. French Red Clay Powder, 1 ounce.
