~ Reedsport, OregonVegantopia, Blodgett, Oregon ~

The weary adventurers awoke at their campsite in the Oregon Dunes, made oatmeal for breakfast, and swiftly packed up camp. The remainder of the morning was spent driving from Reedsport to their new home at “Vegantopia” in Blodgett. The drive was a quick two hours up Highway 101 and across to Blodgett, the Uboxes arrived and the remainder of Sir Thomas’ and Lady Etain’s belongings were there. Sir Thomas spent the remainder of the day, and the next couple, unloaded the Uboxes, carrying the items up the stairs to the upper floor of the Vegatopian complex. The Uhaul delivery driver of the Uboxes was a bit un-nerved with the driveway, and bringing the pods down below. Sir Thomas was un-nerved with the loading of all the furniture and possessions up and down the steps. He did not want to move ever again. Hopefully they felt they would be buying this house and land, and will not have to move again.

The landlord Markey was always hot and cold, flamboyant and on edge, warm and loving at one moment, bitter and grumpy at another. He was living downstairs, while Sir Thomas and Lady Etain was renting the three bedroom house above and Vardo for $500/month. The house was once “Vegantopia” – home to a local tempeh production company the landlord once ran, but given his energy level drops, health, he felt he could no longer operate it any longer. Lord Markey did amazing things, was a skilled craftsman, chef, and artisan. But something was going on with him. So he was selling the place. Rent paid one year in advance to him (which was illegal for him to require) by the end of the lease, Sir Thomas and Lady Etain hoped to have raised enough to purchase the $250,000 property.

Sir Thomas set up the office, bedrooms, and began working on the living room. Lady Etain rested and fed the baby eventually passing out. Sir Thomas worked into the wee hours, unpacking as well as working on web sites for clients. It was a very exhausting day.
