Riverside, California
Weather: Hot – high temperatures over 100 degrees fahrenheit, low 70’s. Clear blue skies.
Sir Thomas was up at the crack of dawn working on the Rio Vista archaeological survey and section 106 NEPA report for his boss. The Prince and his mom, Lady Etain were up by 10 am. Nestled in their little duplex home in the heart of Riverside, California – a beautiful sunny clear and hot day awaited them. They made pancakes and bacon for breakfast accompanied with a glass of orange juice. They did some house cleaning and straightening up the back yard.
They made up lunch and played with the Prince in the front courtyard and talked with some neighbors. The Prince played chase with a neighborhood boy.
Towards afternoon they decided to take a stroll to downtown Riverside and see what the Summer concert series was all about. They walked down US Highway 395 (http://www.technogypsie.com/reviews/?p=38617) to the main street and Downtown Riverside street mall. They spied the pop-up tents with various vendors marketing their wares, found treasures, and collectibles. The event was poorly attended and only a handful were watching the bands performing. The music was okay, but the outside temperatures were pretty hot. Sir Thomas was sore and exhausted from the numerous surveys in the desert he conducted during the week. They pushed the Prince along in his stroller and walked the mall.
They stopped and took pictures of the Cesar Chavez Memorial Statue in the center of the square. They explored the walking mall and walked down by the Barbara and Art Culer Center for the Arts building. After rent and utilities they were too broke for admission fees and concessions during their stroll. They did buy the Prince a bottle of water since they didn’t pack drinks from their house. Lady Etain and the Prince posed for photos sticking their heads and bodies in and out of metal modern art sculptures in front of the center.
Cian stopped and splashed in the fountain pool outside of the historic Mission Inn. After a good couple hour walk around downtown, they headed home grabbing snacks at a CVS Pharmacy around the corner. They settled in for dinner grilling burgers on the grill and fries. After reading the Prince a goodnight story, Lady Etain laid down with the Prince and breastfed him to sleep. She got up later and watched a movie with Sir Thomas and they called it a night.
