Stockton, California to Los Angeles, California

The adventurers were disgusted with the smell of the atmosphere at the Stockton rest area from the cattle slaughter yards and manure piles surrounding the area. The night’s sleep wasn’t too bad, but they were up with trucks pulling in and out near them at sunrise. Sunrise was beautiful and was a start of a new day. Onwards they drove and exited for caffeine at the Starbucks Stockton for their daily addiction. Onwards they drove through the dust bowl and constant reminders of the California Water Crisis. Orchards being removed, dried up crops, and lots of signs saying water is stolen from the farmers, no water = no jobs, and the congress created dust bowl. The cattle industry contributes as well to this dilemma. They say that California only has a year left of water. Sir Thomas Leaf pondered if a good percentage of fruits, nuts, and vegetables from come California – and California runs out of water … what next? They drove through some heavy wind and dust storm areas, climbing the mountains again, and cruising down into Los Angeles. They had a horrible encounter with a very bad driver for Shamrock fuel who nearly hit them – the driver acted like he was in a small sportscar weaving between the adventurers and a truck nearing clipping them. This trucker knows the breaking delay of cars pulling trailers and knows better. He should have his license revoked. They pitstopped for some Indian curry enroute and realized they would not make the Inland Empire in enough time to catch the storage office closing hour – so headed downtown Los Angeles to visit with the mad Docteur Mangor, Lady Angela, and for the Princes to play cars, trains, and planes. Prince Cian and Prince Winter were having quite a blast as the brother’s caught up and they have a grill out in the back yard. Then as fatique caught on, they went to bed in their festival wagon. A good warm night was had by all until the desert chill crept in during the wee hours of the night requiring a light blanket.
