Coulee City, WA
Sir Thomas was up at the crack of dawn, slipping out of the motel room with his sack lunch, archaeology survey pack, rain gear, and winter coat trying to be as quiet as possible not to wake Lady Etain and Prince Cian who were asleep recovering from a late night celebrating the Prince’s birthday. Sir Thomas was very tired and sleepy still as he didn’t get enough sleep.
He met up with the crew, they piled into the work trucks, and headed out of town to the area they were surveying. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands that had been torched by wildfires last fall were still charred even after winter’s snowfall and melt. They tromped up and down hills, down through gullies and ravines, looking for cultural artifacts fifty years or older. Arrowheads, lithics, can scatters, and cairns was the bulk of their findings. As the session was nearing its end in a couple of days, the crew decided they should have a night out together. Given Coulee City had a minimal population, it had one bar/restaurant known as the Last Stand Saloon.
After a long day in the field the team got together at the Last Stand Saloon in Coulee City. Sir Thomas Leaf, Lady Etain, and the Prince joined them. It was a rustic meets modern cafe with saloon in back. The food was decent and fairly priced. After dinner, the adventurers bid goodnight to the crew, taking the wee Prince back to the Motel to his bedtime. Sir Thomas read him a book to sleep, after which Lady Etain nursed him down.
