Colorado Springs, Colorado
Weather: Overcast with snow showers alternating clear days. Low in the 10’s, high in the 30’s.
Sir Thomas had a regular routine each work day of crawling off the couch, on into the shower, and into his vehicle each morning racing off to work at Fort Carson. He’d have his breakfast each morning at the lab diving deeply into his work processing artifacts, mapping sites, creating maps, preparing GPS data collectors and Trimbles for the field crew, conducting surveys, archiving, conservation of collections, and data management. He loved this work. But the premonitions got stronger by the day … he must sacrifice this position and comfort zone to take the epic odyssey Down Under and to the mystical realms of Europe. The window of opportunity presented itself and the timing was to begin in April. Each day he prepared for the journey, wrapping up responsibilities at the lab, and getting ready for the journey. Each evening, he would meditate, read oracles, and seek supernatural guidance for this quest. This was his new mythic cycle, and a new life of many within his single lifetime.
When the weather was amicable, during lunches or afternoons, he would take hikes in either Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Garden of the Gods, or Red Rocks Canyon. Meditating, connecting with nature, and figuring out his path. Entering the wild was always a way to escape the mundane life working into his journey the steps he needed to take to travel between various worlds. He would explore other worlds, lands, and seas to finalize the prophesies of purpose, lifestyle, and relationships.
February 1st through 2nd was the day of his Matron, the Goddess Brigid. She was his ultimate guide in this quest of learning to sail tall ships, explore the remains of the ancestors, and connect with the sacred waters of the world.
For Candlemas, Sir Thomas performed a magical ritual to seek guidance from the Gods, Ancestors, and Fae seeking insight for this upcoming Odyssey around the world. Imbolc being the magical time, the Spring festival in the Northern hemisphere and the Fall Festival where he was going. It was the Feast Day of St. Brigid as well as the Goddess Brigid of Ireland, where his walk-a-bout would end. The festival itself represents the hearth and home that he would soon be leaving in exchange of searching for a new one just after the first stirrings of Spring which takes place at this time. It is a fertility time when “Imbolc” (“In the Belly” representing the birth of ewes) when the Earth conceives. One of Sir Thomas’ holy sites he aimed to venture to was the Mound of the Hostages atop the Hill of Tara which is aligned to this special date. It is a special time of divination, omens, and oracles. He sought for wisdom of his epic life change. This is also seen as the birth date of Brigid / Brighid / Bride / Brigit / Brid. This is also a time of rebirth and renewal, Sir Thomas seeing it as his pivotal conception of his new life and new beginnings with this quest. This is also the time of connection to the sacred wells around the world, and is the pivotal point of self dedication that Sir Thomas has committed to protecting and recording the sacred waters of the world.
Deity, Ancestors, and the Fae revealed much to Sir Thomas during these magical workings. The seeds planted, the stirrings of the journey. The Mythic Cycle has begun.
He first consulted the Faerie Oracle, which revealed the Past of Myk the Myomancer, Ilse the Retriever (rev), and the Maiden. The Present being the Netys the Alchemist, the Spirit Dancer, and Indi. The Future bringing forth the Singer of Transfiguration (rev), the Fairy Godmother, and the Oak Men.
The tale begins with Myk the Myomancer who reads the past, present, and future of Sir Thomas by the movement of field mice and the patterns they leave in their ramblings. He tells Sir Thomas that little things can tell us a lot, that everything in the universe bears messages to us and by studying the details we can deduce the whole and its inter connectivity to the whole and all others. “The lifting of a finger disturbs the farthest star”. Sir Thomas has begun his slow and observant study of the little things, the bread crumbs, being scattered before him, luring him on this journey for the understanding of his life and Mythic call. Attention to detail is most important right now. These little things will give meaning about the larger things in life, such as home, place, and purpose. Life is trying to teach Sir Thomas something by speaking to him gently. Sir Thomas is surrounded by omens, portents, and signs as small happenings in his life, be awake and aware.
Ilse the Retriever reversed tells Sir Thomas in his past there has been a history of procrastination, fears, and disloyalty. These are elements that Sir Thomas wants to reverse in the near future – to seek out Hopes, Wishes, and Loyalty. Sir Thomas has a background of giving too much and being too mature about certain tasks. He used to plan things out and needs to just leap without looking ahead. The lack of desires in the past has been causing a stagnation. His focus on leadership in the past needs to be brushed aside, and he should focus on becoming a student of the universe, following the winds to where they blow him.
The Maiden (14), tells Sir Thomas that he needs to embrace his old self, his inner child, the maiden the boy, that of unconditional cuddly love with kisses on top. To possess no fear, no insecurities, nor clinging to old patterns on this quest. The leap of faith. The journey has been seeded. This journey would heal his childhood pains and give him what he needs to work through, to heal, and seek a life of open honesty with absolute trust.
In his present, Nelys the Alchemyst appears in Sir Thomas’ present, to give him inspiration and blessings. Her wand strikes Sir Thomas to awaken his muse, create the alchemy he needs in his soul to transform, mutate, and change during this quest. Creation of vibration, energy, and sparking the essence of life within himself. Raising his vibrations to the purpose he has on this planet. Break out of the stagnation and allow your creative energy to shine. She is the inspiration of starting new things, and as such, is his guide for this new quest. Everything Sir Thomas needs will be provided along this quest. Nelys told Sir Thomas to get his priorities in order to achieve his goals, giving him the path he needs to follow … illuminating the route he must take.
The Spirit Dancer (#36) told Sir Thomas that growth is happening right now, he is to overcome his past emotions, and heal emotionally through this journey. The burdens of the past are to be lifted at the end of the quest, seeking new future possibilities and mental creativity. Everything is alive. Slow down and observe it. It is time for self-expression, freedom, and exploration. Dance as though no one is watching you. Live, grow, change. just Be.
Indi told Sir Thomas, yes, there is indecision in your life right now. This is your challenge. This wispy fae with a spark of light, all frail and big eyed, arms crossed, holding two worlds. Which world do you desire? he asks Sir Thomas. There is more to the worlds than we can ever perceive he is told. One step within the journey whole, cherish life by gentle touch, learn that which you must know, precept upon precept. Time for commitment and decision-making. Look honestly at your insecurities and recognize them for what they are. Don’t hesitate. Make up your mind and stick with your decision. Higher help is available if asked for.
For the near future the Singer of Transfiguration (#11) reversed tells Sir Thomas that the joy of success awaits you with a new life ready to be accepted and integrated, with a sense of inner peace. The struggle will be worth it. It is a time of consolidation and joy for both reward of your past achievements and preparation for next phase of your journey.
The Faery Godmother reversed tells Sir Thomas that his wishes are not going to come true, don’t be deceived by some of what the universe puts in your path. Be wary of alternatives. Be wary of red flags and false revelations. They will present to you and for some reason, you will look past them.
Finally the Oak Men speak to Sir Thomas, much as being the Ents in Lord of the Rings – it is time to come forth to protect nature and claim your divine powers in connection with the trees. You are a protector of the land of the fae and you see inside them what you feel inside yourself.
