Species is not confirmed. My best guess is a small carnivore such as a raccoon, skunk or small fox, but it could be another small animal, so it is listed as a small carnivore skull, species not identified. The two lower jaw halves are presumed to belong with the skull, but that is not confirmed. These are natural bones that have not been cleaned, whitened or restored by me, so the dried dirt you see in the photos is real and stays with the item.

The skull is bleached and weathered, with fine cracks along the top of the braincase and some dried dirt in the crevices, especially on the underside and palate. Some teeth are present, along with small chips and rough edges from age. The lower jaw is detached, and the two jaw halves are shown separately, with several teeth still in place and some dried dirt on the bone. The lot is shown from the side, underside and back, with close-ups of the jaws and a tape-measure photo for scale.

Condition notes:

Aged and weathered; bleached, with some dried dirt on the bone

Some teeth present; lower jaw detached (two separate halves)

Small chips and rough edges from age

The bone is dry; it may have a faint earthy odor.

Not cleaned, sealed or restored

What you get (the lot pictured):

1 small carnivore skull

2 lower jaw halves

Features:

Skull measures 4.56 x 2.97 x 2.03 inches, 1.4 oz

Jaw halves measure 3.29 x 1.46 x 0.41 inches, 0.8 oz

Total weight 2.3 oz (whole lot); bagged about 9 x 5 x 3 inches

Species not confirmed (best guess raccoon, skunk or small fox; other small carnivore possible)

One of a kind: you get the lot pictured

Sold as is for buyers who want to clean it themselves for art, craft or study.
