Description

A small agate nodule (geode half) with a cut or broken face. The centre has red-orange banding inside a bright white outline, surrounded by soft grey, slightly translucent chalcedony. The back is a rough, pitted brown rind, as shown in the last photo. A sweet little specimen for a rock collection, altar, desk, terrarium or a first rockhound gift.

Stone ID (please read): this is likely natural agate. The colour looks natural, but that’s unconfirmed, as it hasn’t been tested. Our inventory records list it as from Washington State, via Lapidary Dave.

It comes in a small gold-foil gift display box with cotton padding, labelled “Agate Geode”.

Folklore and metaphysical notes (for interest only, not medical or factual claims): agate is traditionally said to be a grounding stone that brings balance, calm and stability.
