Description
A bag of about 40 natural bones that look like they came from a medium-size carnivore, believed to be from the same animal because they were bagged together. Species is not confirmed: the lower jaw (mandible) has carnivore teeth, and the size looks like a medium dog or coyote-size canid, or possibly a bobcat or another medium carnivore, but this is only a best guess and the species is not identified. The bones are aged and weathered, in cream, tan, gray and brown tones with natural cracks, staining and small chips.
What is in the bag (about 40 pieces; counted from the photos, so the exact number may vary):
- 1 lower jaw (mandible) with teeth
- 1 skull base or joint piece
- 1 pelvis
- 4 large limb bones, including a femur measuring 7 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches; the longest bone measures 8 x 2 x 1.5 inches
- about 8 smaller long and limb bones
- about 6 ribs
- many vertebrae (about 25)
- small bones
