Starbucks \u2013 Malahide, Ireland<\/strong>

We were grateful that there was a Starbucks open nearby in Malahide on New Year\u2019s Day, as most of Ireland is shut down on this day. The staff was friendly and courteous, though not really aware of much of the company they work for. We ordered our infamous \u201cChai Creme Frappuccino<\/a>\u201d we are so addicted to, only to get the once-in-a-blue-moon newbie employee response \u201cOh, we don\u2019t make those\u201d. \u201cOf course you do\u201d is always my reply with a quick tutorial on the simplicity and telling them it’s in their book. It\u2019s on their Frappuccino website and even the Starbucks-Ireland website (http:\/\/www.starbucks.ie\/menu\/beverage-list\/frappuccino-blended-coffee\/chai-creme-frappuccino-blended-beverage). The barista said \u201cWe don\u2019t have a book\u201d and \u201cI don\u2019t think that would work\u201d to my tutorial response. But the co-worker went ahead and tried, and voila\u2019 \u2013 he had it right on, and strong as we like them. Then out came the Gold Card, which apparently are only offered to Starbucks clientele in the States \u2026 but the rewards on them should work universally (which has worked in other Dublin locations) as I had at least 2 free purchases on the card in waiting. \u201cOh, we can\u2019t check those\u201d with an \u201cI\u2019ll verify with the manager\u201d follow-up saying \u201cno can do\u201d. So we had to use Euros. The one employee said \u201cWe are not part of the Starbucks network here in Ireland\u201d which I found a surprising thing to say \u2013 \u201cOf course you are\u201d was my reply. I\u2019ve had no problems anywhere else in Ireland with such things and to be a franchise even, you have to be part of the network I\u2019m sure. Overall a good experience minus the novice attentiveness. Kudos to the other employee who was willing to try making the Chai Creme Frappucino. Rating: 3 stars out of 5 ~ visited 1\/1\/2014<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
