Fast growing and mult-stemmed plants &#8211; Tree lines can be used for sound barriers. Depending on the species, hey can grow from 5-30 meters tall. The wood are commonly used in the creation of various musical instruments such as wood bases for electric guitars.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Culinary Uses:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nCatkins are edible and high in protein, but are very bitter in taste and utilized usually on for survival food. The wood is used to smoke cooked food.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Medicinal Uses:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nBark contains anti-inflammatory salicin that metabolizes into salicyclic acid in the body. Red Alder bark is used by some Native Americans for relief from poison oak, insect bites, and skin irritations.
