He had recently traveled through Colorado Springs and met them at a bar. Over a couple of days, they formed a friendship, and when they learned I was heading to Australia, they connected us.

Bluey offered to take two weeks off work to show me around Australia when I arrived.

It sounded incredible. A local guide, someone who knew the region, was willing to help me explore when I first landed.

But there was also a reality I could not ignore.

My friends did not know him very well.

They had only met him briefly during his visit to Colorado Springs. I had never met him at all. Soon, I would be traveling halfway around the world and placing my early experiences in the hands of someone who was, essentially, a stranger.

It felt risky.

It also felt like an adventure.

This was the nature of the journey I was embarking on. Stepping into the unknown, trusting instincts, and allowing the road to unfold.

Plans were also formed for my flight route. My journey from Denver to Brisbane would include a layover in Los Angeles. I decided to take advantage of that stop and planned to visit my brother, Docteur Mangor, while passing through.

Even the journey itself would be long and demanding. Denver to Los Angeles. Los Angeles to Brisbane. Crossing the Pacific. Crossing time zones. Crossing into a new chapter of life.

As the day progressed, I found myself reflecting more deeply on the journey ahead. I knew I would miss Allison and Astranna. Their presence had become part of my daily life. Leaving meant stepping away from that comfort and into uncertainty.

Yet I also felt something else.

A sense of calling.

Dreams of the Goddess Brigid had been appearing in my life leading up to this journey. For me, Brigid was more than a mythological figure. She was my matron, my guiding force, a spiritual presence that had influenced my life in profound ways. I had experienced premonitions and intuitive guidance before, and this journey felt like another step along that path.

I felt that this adventure was important. A quest of sorts.

There were echoes of earlier visions and prophecies, including the prophecy of Niamh that had shaped parts of my life and spiritual journey. Though I sensed that this particular prophecy would not be resolved during this trip, I felt strongly that this journey would play an important role in the unfolding story.

By evening, exhaustion began to take hold. Packing, planning, and emotional reflection had taken their toll. The week ahead would be busy, filled with final preparations, farewells, and departure.

Sunday, April 3, 2011, became another quiet but meaningful step forward.

The unknown awaited.

And soon, I would step into it.

[ Day 2: 4/02/11: Quiet Before Worlds ] [ Home ] [ Day 4: 4/04/11: Joan of Arc ]

Sir Thomas Leif Sails South [ version 1 ] [ version 2 ]
a Viking / Pirate departure for Sir Thomas Leif as he bids farewell to family and friends, Absinthe Alli and Astranna as he heads Down Under to sail the HMB Endeavour ….
