Halloween tricks and treats made for a fascinating time yesterday however it was now time to get on with responsibility … an incredible move to be achieved within a couple of days. A long journey awaited them with weighted down vehicles pushing safety limits, but due to lack of resources and funding … a required step. As they rustled together their provisions and gear, they headed into their vehicles and proceeded to leave. Farewells to the family and a hot journey ahead. Temperatures reaching 95 degrees fahrenheit, they still had mountains and passes in which to cross. Lady Etain’s cell phone wasn’t working so they had to stay in sight of each other continuously otherwise they could easily lose one another in L.A. traffic. From the 2 to I-5, they criss-crossed the lanes and followed each other bumper to bumper, stopping outside of Knott’s Scary Farm for a gas stop at the Am\/Pm. After gas up, they proceeded across the desert north, glancing at Mordor’s landscape of drought-ridden dust bowls with aquaducts empty and more signs of the drought’s impact on what was once prosperous fruit orchards and farms. Lanes of traffic were continuously full with minimal spacing between cars on both sides, demonstrating Mordor’s over-population using up all the resources. The adventurers were content they would no longer contribute to the problem that is “California”. They pitstopped at Denny’s for lunch and Lumberjack’s Cafe for dinner just south of Redding. Too tired and fatiqued, they pulled over at a rest area and rearranged the overcrowded cars so they could uncomfortably sleep for 4 hours together in the same vehicle. Crunched and squashed, recovery at minimum they awoke at 4 am to continue the journey. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Sunday 1 November 2015Los Angeles to Redding The adventurers got off to a late start as they headed home to the Pacific Northwest escaping Mordor.
