New York Faerie Festival, Harpursville, New York
The adventuring trio awoke around 9 am to prince Cian’s giggles and laughter. He must have been being tickled by flower pixies Sir Thomas Leaf thought, as he was rampant in laughter. Sir Thomas Leaf and Lady Etain began packing up camp and preparing for their departure, with one brief visit back in the realm before they would hit the road for Ohio. Walking down the rocky and wet forest path, passing by mythical creatures to the left or right, they were soon in the realm down the stoney brook main street. They stopped and enjoyed local music and bards along the trail. Checking out the vendors for last minute finds and treasures, Sir Thomas Leaf was captivated by a shoemaker who made the most spectacular elven boots. They take awhile to make, and months to deliver, so he got sized and picked out a pair. Unfortunately without a set address, as these gypsies had no reliable mailing address for packages since they were on the road, the shoemaker said he would await their call until they were settled.
After a half hour of getting sized, they were off to visit friends and say farewells … lovely mermaids, fiercesome goblins, and friendly gnomes … bye bye for now young prince Cian thought. A last walk across the troll bridge and along the mermaid beach, the adventurers were soon back at their vardo (RV). The trio were back on the road, heading west, north by northwest. Rain befell the weary travelers as they set their eyes forth on the night’s lodging, this time wandering down to Watkins Glen to stay at the Watkins Glen KOA. Checkin went smooth and the tired crew pulled into a campsite with its own little patio, off to the showers with no energy to enjoy the sauna/hot tub/ and pool offered by the kampgrounds. Electrical issues plagued them as they tried to figure out why shoreline power wouldn’t work and had to settle with an extension cord for 30 watt power. Sir Thomas Leaf wandered off to find a post office to mail off a few amazon and shopping cart orders while Lady Etain prepared dinner. A campfire and catching up on wifi, the trio were soon sound asleep for a big trek tomorrow to the Brushwood Folklore Center.
