* Minerva, Ohio to Wisteria, Ohio *
The adventurers hit the road early, added new map stickers to the U.S.A. map for young prince Cian for his first time to “Ohio”. Onwards down Interstate 77, the adventurers made their way through Marietta, and side skirted through West Virginia to cross the river and cut across through Vienna, Parkersburg, then back into Ohio towards Athens. Greyish skies with overcast, rolling countryside, and forested acres … they were definitely in the Ohio countryside and woods. Several hours of driving, they got a bit lost as they passed by Wisteria. Having a large RV and a van, they had to go a ways down the road to turn around, and did so at an Amish Farm selling eggs, preserves, and other such hand-crafts. As they drove down the driveway they were greated by Bear, who signed them in and guided them down to where they would set up. As they drove down towards the central Cafe, they were entering in right during the XIV X-DAY 2013 celebrations.
In the dim ambiance of the activities, they were granted lead into a deluxe camping pad/gravel spot for their RV/vardo and van, as many others had been sinking into the mud and they didn’t want them to get stuck. They began unfolding all their tents, tarps, and gear setting up a massive camp of a 10×20 tent attached to a 10×10 easy-up, attached to their 24′ RV/Vardo. They rose their pirate flag and began setting up their booth. A leak had developed over the bed, and with the rains that have been hitting, has gotten all over the mattress and siding. Sir Thomas Leaf tarped over the roof and the solar panels, covering over any area that could be leaking since he couldn’t find the hole. It seemed to be coming down through the speaker the former owner had installed in the roof. The Mutants of the SubGenius were parading around the area during their X-day drills. That weekend, they were camping to the tunes and entertainment of The Amino Acids, Bobtisms, Evolution Control Committee, Doktor jams, Rev. Ivan Stang, Dr. Philo Drummond, Dr. Hal, Priestess Pisces, Dr. K’taden Legume, Rev. Frodis “Suds” Pshaw, Papa Joe Mama, Rev. Sam Singleton The Atheist Evangelist, Kaosmic BobKat, Dr. Dark’s Drive-In, Rev. Feit C. Taj’s 24-7 Grindhouse, Dr. G. Gordon Gordon, The Duke of Uke, The Mutant Mountain Boys, Ministry of Slack, Phat ManDee, DJ 2B, burnings, The Slot Rods (with Beach Blanket Bong-Go Party), Tommy Amoeba, Rev. Andrew The Impaled, DJ Shaver, real AND fake weddings, Elvis, and THE PERFECT REHEARSAL FOR THE END OF THE FUCKING WORLD. That afternoon and evening’s entertainment consisted of the Soggly Live Hour of Slack from 3:00 – 4:30 at Caffeina’s cafe, just across from their camp. It was humerous to say the least. They were followed up by Bulldada Auction from 4:30 until 6 pm, and then the Wilds presented a classy discussion and tasting session called “American SubGenius Drinking Habits”. Tommy Amoeba hit the main stage at 9, followed by Phat Man Dee, Andrew the Impaled, and the Amino Acids at 11. The Burning Dobbs performed at the Paw-Paw Patch, and Midnight through the wee hours, the SubStep Dubgenius and DJ TwoBeans, DJ Gravity, and others dance-tranced the mud cloppers in the rain through the night. Sir Thomas Leaf, Lady Etain, and Prince Cian went to bed relatively early but heard much, especially ecstatic drumming and dance at the fire circle to mesmerize themselves to sleep. They slept in their tent as the RV/Vardo’s bed was still wet from the leak and rains. They only had their Solar powered electric to light up their camp, and with the rains, power was low-volt. A good night was had.
