02.10.16: Packing up

Wednesday, 10 February 2016
White Salmon, Washington

For several days in a row, since they were completely penniless, the adventurers stayed home. Kevin the Rogue allowed they to use his phone to check if they had any orders. Between Kevin’s probation officer and fears of the landlord figuring out that the delvers were lodging in the cottage, the rogues informed the explorers once weather was good, they would need to move a lot of their possessions so that they didn’t get caught or have to put them on the lease. As ever thankful the explorers were for staying there, and unfortunately unexpectedly getting snowed in and trapped on the land, they were also quite unhappy with the lifestyle differences that existed with all those on the land. The rogues drank heavy every night, had middle of the night screaming or gun shooting sessions while drunk, and it was not the environment they wanted to be in. So escape was on top of their minds anyhow. While they were welcome to stay all summer, just had to make the cottage look unoccupied, the explorers took it as motivation it was time to begin their tour. Packing up the cabin and putting things in storage became the focus for the next few weeks. Getting everything nomadic and mobile was also focus as they would also try to figure out where to rent a house and lodge down in the fall. They were in agreement that they would try one last summer of festival touring being nomadic and see how much income they could raise. They agreed though, if Lady Etain or Sir Thomas found a stable job, they would land in that town, get a place, and settle in. They would only do the festivals and archaology projects in between. This began their journey forward.

Investing again into the online phone services with Skype, Sir Thomas paid for another month. They removed all the blankets and sheets completely from the walls. It was like a different cottage. Windows 3/4 around them, the mornings would always be early as the sun peered in. Lady Etain did not like this, and pleaded Sir Thomas to leave the coverings of the windows up, but Sir Thomas felt it was time, and they needed to get up earlier to job hunt, work Tree Leaves, finish chores, and get out of this mess.

They read the Prince “Goodnight Moon” and cradled him to sleep.
